Getting Involved

Mount Zion Christian Schools thrives on faith in action to help "Equip our Students for God's Purpose". Beyond the obvious cost-savings that volunteer service provides to Mount Zion, it helps to build our community in myriad ways. Making your faith visible through action builds the faith of others in unseen ways.

Health Club: Parent Volunteering
Our HEALTH Club spiritually "tones" our community as it brings families together to make Mount Zion a healthy body of Christ! As in Ephesians 4:16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Mount Zion Christian Schools Legacy Fund
The Legacy Fund will ensure an enriching educational experience for all of our students by supplying them with an updated and fully functional facility and by providing the resources to implement both academic and athletic programs.

Mount Zion Christian Schools Annual Fund

One of the most challenging things for an independent Christian school is knowing there are families that would like to offer their children the opportunity of a Christian schooling experience, but are unable to afford the tuition. Mount Zion Christian Schools finds this too often seen scenario heart wrenching. That is why we created our Annual Fund.

Spiritual Life

Spiritual Life is abundantly evident at Mount Zion. We intentionally craft everything we do—our lesson plans, classroom atmosphere, even our lunchroom policies—around living as Christians.

Faith in Action

Christian growth comes through learning to serve others. Mount Zion Christian Schools creates an environment where community service projects, leadership training and student government, as well as local, regional and global missions trips is part the students educational experience.

Chapel

Mount Zion Christian Schools are actively involved in proclaiming the Word of God and striving towards a consistent theological education in His word. Chapel is our way of coming together as Christ's community and focusing on His passions, His teachings and His mercy.

Bible Study
Learning and applying the Word of God is the foundation of our school. Our goal is to reveal God's Word in every subject area, teaching the student the fundamental truth that everything on this earth is built with His ultimate plan in mind.

Prayer

At Mount Zion Christian Schools prayer is one of the foundations of which our school stands strong on. It is not only allowed, but encouraged in all aspects of our daily life at school and at home. Our Board of Directors, Administrators, Teachers and Staff all believe that prayer is an integral part of our school and we continuously encourage our students to continue their relationship with God by praying and communicating with Him.

Mission Trips

At Mount Zion, we believe in prayer and action. What better way for students to apply what they have learned than to share the message of Christ to the local community, across the United States and across the world.

Elementary Academics

Our curriculum has been reviewed by experienced Christian educators and uses secular and Christian resources to bring about an academically challenging experience to all of our students. Our program of teaching to three different levels in math and language arts, insures that students are challenged yet don't have demands beyond their capability.

Middle School Academics
The Middle School day consists of five core subjects (Bible, Language Arts, Math, Science and History), as well as electives which include visual arts, performing arts, Spanish and physical education. After-school enrichment activities include a full three-season sports program which instills the concepts of leadership, team building and sportsmanship that will serve the student throughout life.

High School Academics

With academic excellence and high-end technology as hallmarks, Mount Zion is changing the way Christian education looks today. Teachers use the "Intentional Schools" method, using technology with direct teaching to improve student learning. Students bring their laptop into the classroom using it as an important tool for learning.

High School Courses

We recognize God made each of us different. The leveling in each course honors that by placing students in a curriculum that is challenging yet accessible to each student. Each of the following core courses will be offered in the classroom at three different levels.

Technology

Our children face a world filled with technology that didn't exist in when we were in school. We must prepare our students to face the world, to use available technology to learn and expand God's kingdom.

Art Program
It is always exciting to watch our children discover their unique God-given talents and abilities. In art, our students are encouraged to explore their creativity through the elements and principles of design, drawing, painting, and other studio techniques.

Music Program

We read in scripture, "They ministered with music" and at Mount Zion it has turned out that music is indeed a ministry. Whether for chapel or for family and friends, music is in the fabric of what we do at Mount Zion.

Drama
"All the world's a stage," Shakespeare noted, and the young thespians at Mount Zion have many opportunities to be "players on it." Frequent school performances allow students to develop their talents in theater.

Elementary Athletics
Physical education is provided twice a week. The focus is to not only get our children's legs moving, but to also give them an opportunity to learn the rules behind certain games and sports, etc.

Middle School Athletics
Sports bring discipline and teamwork into the lives of students and build Christian character in unique ways. Middle School athletes will participate in a full range of athletic activities and competition with other Christian, public and private schools. Middle sports include soccer, basketball and skiing.
