Elementary School Grades 1 - 5
The elementary grades are vital for building spiritual sensitivity, a quality academic foundation, and the social skills of sharing and teamwork. During the elementary years, our creative and loving teachers provide an inviting and nurturing climate in which students can develop mastery in learning, confidence in achieving, and security in relationship building.

The school emphasizes a balanced language arts program that includes a strong phonics orientation, along with integrated and progressively skilled instruction in literature, library science, creative writing, spelling and vocabulary. In math, teachers use hands-on experiences with manipulatives to provide concrete understanding of concepts, which will serve as the foundation for abstract thinking in higher levels of the math program.

Science and history complement the core elementary classes with investigations and projects integrated into the math and language arts foundation. The elementary curriculum also includes Spanish, physical education, music, art, weekly chapel programs, and enriching field trips.
