Mount Zion Christian Schools Admission Process

We appreciate your interest in Mount Zion Christian Schools. Mount Zion is a non-denominational Christian School committed to entering into partnership with parents and students who desire a Christ-centered education.

SCHEDULING INITIAL INTERVIEW

The first step in the application process is to schedule an interview and tour of our school. We encourage both the parents and students to come for this visit. The initial interview will take less than an hour.

SCHEDULING A STUDENT VISIT

We strongly encourage Junior High School and High School students who are considering MZCS to come and spend a day with us.

ENTRANCE TESTING

Upon receipt of completed application:

Grades 9 – 12:
No test. Transcripts and recommendations reviewed by Admissions Team; Interview with Headmaster.

Grades 2 – 8:
Math & English tests.

Grades K4 – 1:
No entrance test, ½ hour interview with appropriate teacher will be scheduled.

ADMISSIONS POLICIES

1. No otherwise qualified individuals shall be excluded from participation in, or denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination under any programs for activities of the corporation solely by reason of race, color, sex, national or ethnic origin.

2. Prospective Kindergarten students must be at least 5 years of age by September 30 of the school year. Prospective First Grade students must be at least 6 years of age by September 30 of the school year.

COMPLETING THE APPLICATIONS

We accept applications at any time for the current academic year. Applications are considered based on current enrollment in each grade.

Download an application on line or obtain an application packet from our Admissions office. Each application packet includes the following:

Application
Statement of Faith
Handbook Agreement
Christian Conciliation & Arbitration Agreement
School Records Release
Medical forms:
Personal Immunization Record (Grades K – 3rd), Health Survey, Medical History, Physician's Report of Health, Sports Permission Slip (Grades 6 – 12 only)
Recommendation Forms (7-12 grades only) (available through admissions office, not available for download)
Student Emergency Information form.

Completed applications should be submitted to the Admissions office with the following:

Application fee, $75 per application
Please make check payable to: MZCS
Include copy of student's birth certificate.
Include the student's most recent report card.
Christian Conciliation & Arbitration Agreement
Include the student's most recent standardized test results.
All Medical forms can be submitted upon formal acceptance.
All Financial forms can be submitted upon formal acceptance.

ACCEPTANCE

Families will be notified of acceptance status by phone and by formal letter.
